There will be plenty of local flavor in the Under Armour Slam Dunk contest tonight at the Boost Mobile Elite 24 event in Venice Beach, Calif.
Former University of Kentucky guard John Wall (right), the No. 1 draft in June’s NBA Draft, will be one of the judges for the dunk contest that will begin at 7:30 p.m. EDT. Wall will be joined by other pro players Brandon Jennings, Baron Davis and Tyreke Evans.
Among the players expected to compete in the dunk contest is Louisville target Deuce Bello, a 6-foot-4 forward from High Point, N.C. Bello is considered one of the better leapers in the country.
LeBryan Nash, Jahii Carson and Nick Johnson are among the other better ‘dunkers’ on the rosters for the event and should be Bello’s main competition.
The dunk contest is on ESPNU.
The Boost Mobile event will be held Saturday night at 8 p.m. and is also on ESPNU. Louisville and UK target Quincy Miller, UK targets Kyle Wiltjer and Adonis Thomas and top juniors Alex Murphy, Shabazz Muhammad and DaJuan Coleman will play in the event.
