North Carolina basketball standout Quincy Miller is one of 24 players in Venice Beach, Calif., this week for the Boost Mobile Elite 24 event that features the nations elite players.
But the No. 2 ranked prospect in the Class of 2011 by Scout.com said he’s “excited” to see what next week brings when he makes his official visit to Louisville.
“I have heard a lot about Louisville,” Miller said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. I am just looking forward to seeing the city, campus and the new arena.”
Miller (photo, back) will be one of three top 30 players from the Class of 2011 on official visits to Louisville next weekend, including his friend and teammate Deuce Bello (photo, foreground) and Josiah Turner.
Miller and Bello also had a visit scheduled for Baylor but recently had that visit canceled. Miller said he believes it will be rescheduled before he makes a final decision and said it wasn’t certain that he and Bello would attend the same school.
“We are getting recruited by some of the same schools,” he said.
Miller said the “biggest reason” he wanted to look closer at U of L was coach Rick Pitino and new assistant coach Tim Fuller, saying “they are both great people and great coaches and I talk to them a lot. Coach Pitino has great relationships with his players and I like that.”
Miller noted this is his first official visits and he’s “waiting to see what happens. It’s exciting.”
